The first cry for independence in Central America
November 4, 1811
The Central American liberation of the Spanish Empire began in San Salvador on November 4, 1811, a decade before the signing of the independence act that took place in Guatemala City. From this date an independence movement known as the "First Scream of Independence of Central America" will take shape, headed by the presbyter and Salvadoran politician José Matías Delgado. Unfortunately, these facts are not well known even to the Central Americans themselves.
